THE BLUE LAMP TRUST ADVANCED ROAD SKILLS ELEARNING MODULES were created for the Blue Lamp Trust, a charity that provides help and support for the elderly and vulnerable in the form of the BOBBY Scheme. Supported by Hampshire Fire, Police and Ambulance services, the trust generates income through various channels, including driver awareness training. For many years they have offered classroom-based courses. These however are not always practical for large companies to attend, so the Blue Lamp Trust came to us to develop a series of online training modules. We began by developing ‘Bobby’ the elearning trainer, who walks people through each course. From here we created a series of modules that users can take in their own time and wherever they have access to an internet connection, rather than being tied to a specific date and time in a classroom.
ELEARNING MODULES AND LMS DEVELOPMENT
As well as developing elearning modules, we also developed our own LMS system. This was not only so we could create bespoke elearning sites for any company interested in elearning, but also to control budgets more closely, since third-party LMS systems represent a significant portion of any elearning budget. By developing our own system, we were also able to keep a very clean, simple and 100% bespoke user interface, helping users understand how to access modules, with no input required. Personalised certificates were also provided when learners successfully completed the course pass mark.
